About Your Podcast Hostess

Colette Canchola- Cox is a local do-gooder and has deep roots to the community as a St. Joseph native. She found her passion when she began advocating on both a local, state and national level to bring attention and effect change for her son who experiences autism. She has more than seven years of experience, four of which have been here at Progressive Community Services where she used the lens of the family perspective to help shape the family navigation department.

Colette is proud to be a:

  • Partners in Policy making graduate
  • Graduate of the National Leadership Institute on Developmental Disabilities
  • One of the 20 Who Count by St. Joseph News Press
  • Nominee for Women of Excellence, for emerging leader in 2017 and again in 2019 for Women in Workplace Leadership
  • Charting the LifeCourse Ambassador
  • Community Relations Director for the Autism Alliance of NWMO
  • Board of Directors for MO-FEAT
  • Member of countless other advisory and committees

She was inspired to create a podcast to our community that helps to share the stories of people with disabilities, their family members, and professionals to provide a sounding board for innovation, collaboration and talking out ways to get our community to the next level. The dream would be to support St. Joseph to become on of the best places to live, visit, and work for ALL people.
