PROGRESSIVE COMMUNITY SERVICES HIRES NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Brings Extensive Experience in Supporting People with Developmental Disabilities

Heather Weddle, Progressive Community Services Executive Director
The Board of Directors of Progressive Community Services is pleased to announce the hiring of Heather Weddle as the organization’s Executive Director. Progressive Community Services is a Senate Bill 40 Board that supports Buchanan County residents who have developmental disabilities. The Vision of Progressive Community Services is “An inclusive community where all people have value.”
“We’re pleased that Heather has taken on this leadership role,” said David Cripe, Chairman of the Board. “Her broad knowledge of developmental disability best practices and supports coupled with years of experience working with Home and Community Based Services make her well positioned to lead us going forward. Her passion and commitment to our mission coupled with her knowledge of our work will enable her to plan for the future as well as expand our partnerships and impact in Buchanan County.
For the last 18 years Heather Weddle has been the Children’s Program Director at UCP of Northwest Missouri. Among many other things, during her tenure as the Children’s Program Director Heather developed therapeutic equipment loan program, led UCP Preschool in transition from a segregated preschool to a fully inclusive community preschool earning a statewide Cutting-Edge award and enhancing early childhood experiences for children, families and our community.
Overall, Weddle brings over 20 years of experience supporting people with developmental disabilities. Heather holds a BS from Northwest Missouri State University, in Child Development and Family Studies. She will begin her employment at Progressive Community Services on October 7th.
